UX Consulting

I’ve worked in UX consulting for nearly five years at Slalom, after spending some time at Accenture. I primarily work as a UX Designer, with occasional support on UX research depending on team and client needs. I prefer Figma and Miro, but stay flexible to match client tools and workflows. I’ve worked across healthcare, automotive manufacturing, higher education, fintech, utilities, state government, and criminal justice. Because projects shift every few months, I regularly context switch and ramp up quickly. Lately, I’ve been exploring ways to use AI to work more efficiently and iterate faster.

Beyond project delivery, I’m a people leader who mentors and coaches other designers, and I occasionally support sales pursuits for UX work. I also prioritize volunteer work in the Detroit community, and I enjoy helping students prepare for the professional workforce.

Let’s work together

Building Rocket Mortgage from the ground up

I was one of the first UX designers hired to help build the Rocket Mortgage platform from scratch, an ambitious effort that disrupted the mortgage industry and set a new standard for online lending. I partnered closely with product managers and UX researchers on agile delivery teams, working on core features like online chat, document submission, making payments, and scheduling in order to make a complex process feel simple and human.

Beyond day-to-day design work, I contributed to IT planning, user testing, and broader platform strategy, and served as a UX advocate across the organization through presentations and workshops. Seeing our work featured in a Super Bowl commercial (and an Avengers movie) was a fun reminder of the scale and impact of what we built.
